- Outer bar buoy entrance to inner draft restriction is 7.2M & can only cross of the time/date for high tide schedule. Inner bar 12 – 15M.
- 1 Mobile Crane, 1 Shuttle Carrier, 4 Reachstackers, 3 Empty Stackers, 8 Prime Movers, 13 Forklifts (9 – 3 Tons, 2 – 6 Tons & 1 – 10 Tons) & 3 Towing Tractors (2 – 35 Tons & 1 – 2 Ton).
- 13,200 m2 covered storage; 5,900 m2 open storage, 509 container ground slots.
- Break bulk operation – Wharf (outer part lower draft limit 7.2m and highest tide 9.2m) & Mid-stream (Disch & Load) by Ship’s Crane.
- Container operation – Wharf (Disch & Load) by Mobile Crane.
- SP-SDK class 1 & 2 dangerous cargo is not allow in SDK port. Other than the above, it should be no problem & if under class 3 dangerous cargo must be presented with special packing & remarks “Dangerous Cargo” sticker on the outer panel of the container & direct delivery is preferred for both discharge and load.
- Port Operations Hours:
1st shift = 0730-1530, 1130-1230 (Rest hour), 1130-1400 (Friday Prayer),
2nd shift = 1530-2330, 1700-1800 (Rest hour),
3rd shift = 2330-0730, 0300-0400 (Rest hour).

Berth 1 (Outer) = Length – 213M, Depth – 11.0M
Berth 2 (Starboard side) = Length – 121M, Depth – 9.0M
Berth 3 (Inner) = Length – 75M, Depth – 6.0M
Berth 4 (Board side) = Length – 155M, Depth – 9.0M
Port Limits
The limits of the Port of Sandakan shall be ” Sandakan Bay bounded by a line drawn in a west-south-west direction from the northern point of Pulau Berhala to the mainland, and by another from the same point on the Pulau Berhala to the most eastern extremity of Tanjung Aru and thence to the opposite bank at the entrance Trusan Duyong, including all passages and rivers entering same for a distance of six hundred feet inland from the mouth of the river “.
